MLA referencing is a style of modern
language association that is also one of the ways to
reference a document or a research paper. The main objective
of the citation of the work is to provide credit of the
source and make the information accessible to the reader.
The process includes credibility to work and also
strengthens the argument. The MLA style of referencing
requires a brief reference in the text of the paper and
whole reference at the end of the paper.
In the text referencing of MLA, the use of authors’ surname
within the sentence and the page number is included in
brackets at the end of the sentence, before the period. In

entries are alphabetized by the fist word of the entry.
Further, style entries are double spaced and the second line
of an entry should be formatted with hanging indent of a

use of initials for names are preferred.
In this style of referencing, it is essential to capitalize
all the significant words in titles. In addition to that,
one space is required after all punctuation. In the
referencing of the book, procedure should be followed in a
way such as the title of the project or database, editor of
project, date of electronic publication, name of sponsoring
organization, date of access and web address are to be
incorporated .On the other hand, while referencing the
magazines, it is not necessary to include the volume and
issue number; however if you are not sure, if it is a
magazine or a journal publication, include volume and issue
information .In the case of web site citation in the MLA
style, the process is followed in a manner that includes
the name of the author or the complier, titled, date of
electronic publication, name of institution sponsoring the
website (if applicable), date of access and complete web
address for the page from which the information was taken.
