Tips to Write Reference in APA:

The process of referencing is termed as acknowledging the source of information and idea, which has been used in the assignment of paper. In the paper, we use various quotations, facts and figures that require authentication; so for this purpose, the process of referencing is carried out. There are various forms that are used for this purpose. In order to follow the referencing in APA Format, certain points are needed to be considered. In the reference list, firstly, the author’s name is given, followed by this, publication date is mentioned.

In addition to that, it should include the page number and full detail of text citations. In case of reference book in APA style, detail is given accordingly such as author, year of publication, title of book, volume or edition of book, place of publication and finally, the publishers. In case of reference of the journal article; the details are required in a manner such as author of the article, year of publication, name of the title, volume including issue number of the journal and page number. Now, in order to do referencing for the electronic information the date of access of information along with the web address of the article is mentioned.

The entire list is inserted at the end of the document. In the APA format, it is required that second and consequent lines of the references should be indented. In this style of referencing list, the author’s last name first, followed by the initials. In case there is more than one author for a source, then list each one; and use “et al." if the number exceeds by six authors. In order to pursue punctuation in the APA style, then it is essential to capitalize all major words in the titles of the works that are being cited for journals, but in case of books, the title is italicized.

 In case of ordering in the APA style, the reference is arranged according to the Alphabetic order of the authors' last names. If you have more than one source from an author, list the earliest source first. In case of movie citation in APA style, the order will be followed in a way such as list the producer, director, date of publication, title, country of origin, and the studio.
